Assalanlaikam!. Haleem is traditionally made with beef and it tastes best that way. I’m posting this chicken Haleem recipe.
This is Chicken Haleem recipe but you can substitute mutton or beef for chicken.
Recipe of haleem is so simple and quick.
My mum make this haleem just in an hour.
Ingredients of chicken haleem:
Chicken boneless......1.5 kg
Chana dal....1 cup
Maash daal .....1 cup
Rice .....1 cup
Wheat porridge ....1 cup
Sabut gandum ....1 cup
Yellow daal.....half cup
One full garlic
Ginger......4 inch piece
Spices for chicken haleem:
Coriender powder.....3 table spoon
Red chillie.....3 TBL son
Zeera seeds (cumin).....1 tblespn
Garam masala.....1 tblespn
Method of cooking chicken haleem:
Take a pressure cooker add chicken all dals( above mentioned grains )in it .now add water 1 big bowl.add all spices in it and cover the cooker .cook it for 16 minutes.
After 16 minutes check it out if the daals and chicken gets tender then separate the chicken pieces them.take a grinder jug add half of haleem in it and then grind other half.after that taste the haleem and add spices which are low in taste.
The main step of chicken haleem is it's tarka which is the mother of haleem.
Method of tarka:
One onion .....large
2-3 tblespn of oil
Zeera seeds(cumin)
Take a frying pan add oil and onion in it when onions turns golden brown then add zeera seeds and turn off the flame for 3 minutes.
Now put that tarqa in haleem.cook haleem on medium flame after tarqa and turn off the flame.
Salad of chicken haleem:
Cut and 4 inches piece of ginger into long thin pieces.two lemon and 5-6 large green chillies which are cut into small and thin pieces.
When you start eating haleem then sprinkle this salad on your haleem and serve chicken haleem with chapatis.
